Kodakid Album Launch – Whelans

Kodakid are set to launch their debut album in Whelan’s on Saturday, 28th June. The Waterford indie rockers have gathered a steady following since forming in 2011 and are now set to release their album on 30th June on CD, download and a very limited number of individually numbered vinyl pressings.
Admission 10 (Which inckudes a copy of the album).

Support on the night comes from Paul Hennessy and Kantor Tzar Collectif.

Slayer to play The Academy

Following two sold out shows in the same venue last year, American heavy metal band Slayer have announced a date at The Academy on Tuesday, 1st July.

The band are currently working on their eleventh studio album (The first since their 2009 release World Painted Blood) which is due for release later this year.

Tickets priced €39 go on sale this Friday at 10.00am.

HMV Grafton Street Opening Day

While controversy may still rage on over HMV marking the return of their Grafton Street store with an Record Store Day opening they will do so with a host of Irish talent on display.

The store will open at 8.00am with the store giving a free PlayStation 4 console to the first person in the queue and 40% off all vinyl on the day.

Roddie Cleere’e Irish Music Show set to return

Following a three and a half year break Roddie Cleere has announced the return of his Irish Music Show. The show will be broadcast on KCLR which broadcasts to Kilkenny and Carlow.

The show will showcase the best in homegrown talent every Sunday between 7pm and 10pm with the first show taking place on Sunday 4th May.

Gig guides, local and national, interviews and other features will help to ensure that lovers of Irish bands/acts are soundly catered for and kept up to date.
